3 lbs lean beef stew meat
5 cups apple cider
2 cans french onion soup, condensed
2 russet potatoes peeled & cut up
2 sweet potatoes peeled & cut up
10 slices thick cut bacon
1 cup craisins or more
In heavy stew pot, brown bacon. Remove bacon & reserve. Brown half of the beef in bacon drippings. Remove & brown the other half. Return bacon & browned beef back into pot.
Add cider & onion soup & bring to a boil. Cover, reduce to simmer & cook one hour.
Add potatoes & craisins. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer & cook covered for another hour.
